Photography for Kathryn and Giovanni's Northamptonshire Wedding

Back in July of this year I was very flattered to be invited to shoot the Northamptonshire wedding of Kathryn (Robinson) and Giovanni Ugolotti at the bride's parents' fabulous home, Cranford Hall, near Kettering. It was possibly the most international affair I've ever attended: a British bride (who represents Canada), an Italian Groom, and a […]

Hail Caesar!

If you were lucky enough to watch the prize giving ceremony at Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials this year you will know that the presentations were nearly upstaged by this chap, a gorgeous army dog called Caesar. Soon after the event the handler got in touch with me to ask if he could have a […]

Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials 2017

A long and tough five days at Burghley Horse Trials is finally over. Oliver Townend has been crowned and a British 1,2,3,4 is definitely worth celebrating. Saturday saw its fair share of thrills and spills (I seem to be the nemesis for the Kiwis, with both Andrew and Mark falling at fences I was photographing […]

I have four different main clients this year so need to keep my wits about me. I've headed to Burghley early to give me a chance to sit down and plan my Thursday/Friday/Saturday around who I need to shoot and who, in theory, I don't. I've decided to get to Burghley and set off onto […]

Dublin Horse Show 2017 - Day Five

Day five of Dublin Horse Show. It's Friday and that means it's Nations Cup day. I'm looking forward to this, but not from a British perspective. They haven't been performing well this week so far. There are lots of quirks to the Dublin Horse Show. One of which is that it isn't know as the […]

Dublin Horse Show 2017 – Day Three

Day three means we're in business, literally. The show has started. The latest start of the show gives us a chance to sort of who is shuttling who in from UCC to the show ground. We can't park at RDS so two drivers will drive us in shifts each day, before returning to our accommodation, […]

Dublin Horse Show 2017 - Day Two

We wake in Dublin to find that air conditioning does not seem to work in our apartments. It is very warm in our rooms and we all feel a bit dehydrated but it doesn't matter too much because today is our lay day and we only have a few non-time-specific jobs to do. We drive […]

Dublin Horse Show 2017 - Day One

Join us for the experience of Dublin Horse Show 2017. Despite the anticipation days one and eight are not the most exciting. They are for travelling. This year I pick Ben and Steph up in Oakham at the crack of dawn. The usual game of boot-Tetris ensues but my Golf does me proud and we […]

Equestrian editorial photography at Aston Le Walls

Equestrian editorial photography I've often been asked if covering an event for a magazine is like event photography, and I always answer, "yes, and no!" The difference between event photography and editorial photography is usually clear. Event photography is about the horse, editorial photography is about the rider. When National newspapers cover an equestrian event […]

On alternate years the village of Ashwell in Rutland organises a village fete, organised by a small committee and hosted by Nicholas and Emma Leeming, at their lovely house, Ashwell Grange. As in previous years the Ashwell Village Fete raised money for several local causes, including the local air ambulance, one of my favourite charities. […]

About Nico

I am an equine photographer, website designer and hosting provider living in Lincolnshire.

I work with clients who are sole traders and others which are FTSE companies. They are equally important to me.

If you need commercial photographyeditorial photography, event photography, lifestyle, equestrian or wedding photography, then I can help you, with over 30 years experience in these areas.

I also teach photography. I mentor photographers with a range of experience, from beginners to working professionals and run an equine photography course which gives members access to articles about the business of equestrian photography.

I have a varied set of skills, having worked for well known web design, SEO and analytics companies in parallel to my photography.

I design, host and maintain websites for clients as varied as farms, interior designers and equestrian centres, as well as for bloggers and sportspeople, including many riders.

I am the Public Relations Officer for the Midlands Area Point-to-Point Association, a role which utilises my PR and social media skills to promote horse racing both online and in the National press.
