The Cambridge University Drag Hounds at Launde, Leicestershire, 8th January 2023.
A female rider on a bay horse appears to jump over a faller rider while the faller's horse looks at the camera from the hedge.
No rider or horse was hurt in any way in this incident which took place during the Cambridge University Drag Hounds visit to the Cottesmore Hunt country in January 2023. The meet took place at Launde, near Oakham, Leicestershire but this image was taken at Burrough-on-the-Hill on the last "line", or pre-laid trail, of the day.
Drag Hunting has become very popular since the Hunting Ban 2004 restricted traditional fox hunting in the United Kingdom. A rag is soaked in a scent which hounds have been traiend to follow and is trailed either by a runner or a quad drive to create scent trails across specific country routes which include obstacles such as hedges and hunt jumps for the entertainment of the riders, who pay a subscription, or "cap", to attend.
