The annual Belvoir Hunt Ball was held at Honington Grange where, in spite of the efforts of Storm Dennis, more than 400 guests enjoyed an evening of celebration.
Guests included the Duchess of Rutland Emma Manners, daughters Lady Alice, Lady Eliza & Lady Violet, Viscountess Grimston and Lady Isabella Innes-Ker, as well as Joint Hunt Masters Lady Sarah McCorquodale, Justine Smiley-Jones, Tom Kingston, David Bellamy, David Manning and Kit Henson.
The Belvoir Hunt is one of the oldest and most celebrated hunts; it dates from 1750 and became a foxhound pack in 1762. The kennels throughout the Hunt’s history have been at Belvoir Castle. Since the Hunting Ban in 2004, the Belvoir have engaged in trail hunting and hound exercise instead of hunting foxes.
The pack’s country lies in Leicestershire & Lincolnshire, adjoining the Quorn and the Cottesmore at Melton.
