He has been competing in eventing since he was a child, and has represented Great Britain at the Pony, Junior, Young Rider, and Senior levels. He has won numerous medals at all levels, including team gold at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.

McEwen is known for his strong riding skills and his ability to produce young horses. He is based at Gatcombe Park in Gloucestershire, England.

McEwen is a rising star in the world of eventing, and is considered to be one of the most talented riders in the sport.
