Peachy Belts was set up in 2005 by Zoe Gibson who, having spent 15 years as an agent wanted to create her own line of product that was lovely, of the finest quality and useful! The idea of great every day belts with detachable buckles was born.
Zoe imports all of the leathers that are used for the range from Italy, but has the belts made to her specification in Leicestershire, "It would be impossible to get them exactly as I want them if I could not sit down and explain what stitch size, cotton colour, lining thickness etc. I would like for the belts. Working with a local company is imperative to creating a gorgeous end product and maintaining the highest standards of production".
The buckles simply snap off the belts which means it is quick and easy to change from a simple everyday buckle to a more decorative diamante one for the evening. About 70% of the buckles are now exclusively designed by Zoe and produced from solid brass and pewter in England – the Swarovski crystal buckles are made to the Peachy specification in Italy. Each season there are new belt colours and buckle designs but it is the classic colours that are the biggest sellers. The vegetable tanned leathers that are used ensure that the belts will improve with wear and last so customers choose a colour they know they will wear for many years.
Zoe attends approximately 30 fairs and sporting events each year where she sells the range and many customers will refresh their belt and buckle range each year online at www.peachybelts.co.uk.
New for Spring 2014 is the Cartridge Buckle which Zoe designed specifically for The Game Fair but has had a fantastic response – it comes in a solid pewter version as well as brass and can have a corporate name inscribed on it for an additional charge.
A pretty baby blue cowhide leather has been used in a skinny width belt as well as the detachable jeans width, and the butter soft dune nubuck belt is also a top seller each summer.
I will be undertaking the annual Peachy Belt photo shoot for the new brochure in June, hopefully capturing the best shots possible of the Peachy belts on a model on location. The PR programme is already underway to encourage the great eventing customers that Peachy already has to come along and view the range at Badminton Horse Trials in the Country Living tent in May.
