Due to the unprecedented circumstances, Osberton International Horse Trials and the British Eventing Six and Seven Year Old Championships (October 8 to 11) will move, for 2020 only, to Thoresby Park.
Just six miles down the road, Thoresby Park will host a CCI-L 3* and CCI-L 2*, along with the British Eventing Six and Seven Year Old Championships.
The change of location is required due to concern from Osberton Estate in relation to travel through the village during the period of COVID outbreak. Osberton has hosted the British Eventing Young Horse Championships for 10 years, delivering a key end-of-season aim for up and coming equine talent.
BEDE’s Stuart Buntine, said; “During these difficult and uncertain times we are delighted to announce that the competition planned for Osberton will be going ahead, albeit at a different venue.
“We fully understand the concerns raised by the team at Osberton and are looking forward to a fantastic event at Thoresby Park.
“There has been much to do, and final plans are still being implemented but we will announce the full timetable shortly.”
British Eventing CEO, Jude Matthews, added: “It is fantastic that the competition, due to take place at Osberton, including the BE Young Horse Championships, are able to run thanks to the co-operation of so many people. We would like to thank Thoresby for stepping in with use of the estate. The decision to change venue has taken place at very short notice, and we are very grateful for the flexibility shown to ensure that this key fixture is not lost from the 2020 calendar.”
