WordPress is a very popular Content Management System (CMS) which powers a very large proportion (40%) of all web sites at the time of writing.

To access your site’s WordPress dashboard you need a username and password which I will send to you.

Follow the link in the email to reset your password as required. Please be careful to take the usual steps to ensure you password is secure as someone guessing your username could use this password to vandalise your site.

Once you have your username and password you can access WordPress by going to yourdomain.com/wp-login.php or (slightly easier) yourdomain.com/wp-admin. You should replace “yourdomain.com” with your actual web site address.

You will then be presented with the standard WordPress log in dialog:

standard wordpress dailog

In the first box you can enter either the username I have sent you or the email address which the details were sent to.

In the second box you must use the password you have been sent. You can alter this to something more personal to you once you are logged in.

Once you have successfully logged in you will be at your WordPress Dashboard.
