“Nico has been a long standing supporter of mine, and has worked with me at both equine and social events. It was for this reason I asked Nico to conduct a particular shoot for me in July 2015.
After a number of years rest, my 2* event horse was not recovering from injuries sustained at an event. Due to his age and nature the decision was made to put him to sleep, along with my severely arthritic 21yo. After numerous years competing, I wanted to have some final pictures to remember my boys by, where we weren’t “at work”. I had two particular shots in mind which I knew Nico would understand and be able to perfect, and he did.
As a result of my friendship with Nico and my respect for his work, it never occurred to me to ask anyone else to take this final series of pictures. Even so he still left me speechless at just how much he captured.
I wanted pictures that showed my boys looking well, off duty, and the relationship we shared. Nico achieved this and more, and to that end I am so grateful.” Laura Keeley
