Aoife Clark got in touch with me in 2023 to ask if I would update her existing website and give it a more modern feel.
There are lots of advantages to a dynamically-generated website so we decided to move everything over to WordPress and set up some custom post types to make editing the site easier for Aoife and her tight-hand woman Hannah.
We made a design choice to make the header a transparent one which incorporated Aoife’s professionally designed logo and her social media links. Behind the transparent header each page would have a “hero” image from a collection of Aoife’s favourites, including her appearance in the Olympics.
Sponsors and horses are included as custom post types, meaning that all Hannah or Aoife have to do is edit the entry for a particular sponsor/horse, give it a title and content, and fill in the custom fields for that type of post: image, logo, web address etc.. The website does the rest and updates the relevant pages automatically.
