This coming weekend (23 – 24 May) boasts a multitude of British Eventing competitions around the country at international and national level plus two brand new fixtures to the calendar; Millfield (Somerset) and Dalston Green (Cumbria).
The inaugural Millfield Horse Trials runs over the stunning grounds of Millfield Prep School in Somerset, overlooked by the iconic Glastonbury Tor. Millfield boasts a brand new cross country course designed by Adrian Ditcham who has used the natural landscape with imagination and flair to create a straightforward and flowing course with some novel feature fences and an attractive water complex. The competition hosts classes from Airowear BE80(T) level through to BE100 and has already shown itself to be a popular addition to the calendar with full waitlists being held.
The established Organising team of Douglas and Lucinda Weymouth are looking forward to welcoming competitors to their new event in Cumbria this weekend at Dalston Green. The event site takes place on superbly situated parkland which offers well drained land with a variety of features for the cross country courses. The cross country courses wind their way up an embankment to higher pastures and then back down to enjoy the galloping turf. The event offers classes again from BE80(T) level through to BE100 plus many additional special prizes.
Recently appointed Chief Executive of BE, David Holmes commented: “It is fantastic news to hear that two brand new fixtures have already received great numbers in entries; we are very fortunate to be able to offer our Members these additional opportunities to compete and wish the Organisers the best of luck with these new BE fixtures.”
Also taking place this weekend around the country are: Rockingham Castle International (Northamptonshire), Bishop Burton College (E.Yorkshire), Tweseldown (Hampshire) and Shelford Manor (Nottinghamshire).

Hi
I was competing at Millfield yesterday and wonder if you have any photos of the event?

Hi Lynda
No I'm afraid I wasn't there taking photos, I was elsewhere. I'm afraid I don't know who the official photographer was.
Best wishes
